The question is, are athletes being trained appropriately for their sports? No disrespect, but most coaches do not understand how to accurately train for agility, speed, power, etc. Wrestlers, for example, should probably not be running long distance or doing many bench presses, lying on their back. Each sport brings its own unique ways of training footwork, agility, speed, power, and even strength. Often times, a change in how they perform an action or movement in their sport can make hugh changes on the field or court, etc. Without proper training, it is almost impossible to be competitive in today’s sporting atmosphere even for those athletes with raw, God given talent.
